Intelliscope Broadens My Access to Research Reports

I recently got an account with Intelliscope. According to the description at its own web site, Intelliscope "provides access to in-depth opinion and analysis from respected industry experts, along with insightful analyst commentary and coverage of breaking news and important events."

I am very happy about the service after some initial tests. It is mainly a one-stop source for all research reports and market commentaries. In particular, I can even find enough readings for my small cap holdings like TALK, OCA and PPD, which, previously, I can only rely on S&P reports, SEC filings, sporadic commentary from resources like Fool.com and newsgroup discussions to form investment opinions.

I have to say, however, Intelliscope's search interface is not simple and intuitive enough. For a library of research reports, it should allow easy allow search by ticker. Instead, it forces user to use a primitive way to look up the ticker and convert it to company name, before a search can be done. Other than this small inconvenience, I found this service tremendously valuable.

More information about the service:

- The service is provided by Dialog."Dialog is a division of The Thomson Corporation-a U.S.$7.2 billion global e-information and solutions provider serving the business and professional marketplace."

- "Intelliscope encompasses two key data sets, including broker research reports and morning meeting notes . Over 650 of the world's most trusted research firms contribute insight and analysis in the form of detailed broker research reports. In addition, more than 700 analysts from some 200 leading firms provide commentary on meetings, corporate announcements, and industry events."
