TRADE #19 - Buy MTG 100s @ $39.50 in Datek (Backlog for November 13, 2002)

[This is a backlog for a previous trading transaction. It may not fully represent my thinking at the time of the trading.]

I bought 100 shares of MTG at $39.50 each. The company is a major player in Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) business. What appeals to me is again value. The company is on track to achieve $6.00 EPS this year, and maybe $5.00 next year. At $39.50, I'm buying the company for a mere 7-8 times earnings. With the interest rate continues to trend down, I see more positives that the housing market boom is going to continue for a while, and MTG is certainly going to benefit from it.
