October brought some positive changes to my credit score. The lagging score, reported by TransUnion (thru Providian) rose 24 points to 659. The score from Experian also improved 12 points and ended the month at 744. This brings the gap between the two numbers down to 85, from a remarkably high 97 points at September end.

Apparently, my willingness to hold back new card application since an undesirable encounter with MBNA in August helped the recovery. Hopefully, once both my scores surpass 700, I will start to hunt for new (and more rewarding) plastics again -- fortunately there are not many attractive deals around right now.
