Debit Rewards Cards Expand Offerings -- And Come With Costs

A list of check card reward offerings from U.S. Bank, CitiBank, Bank of America and Charter One. Note all of these programs carry an annual fee from $20 to $65, and the pay out is usually less than 1%.

Now that 1% flat cashback credit card with no annual fee is so commonplace, I cannot understand why people will be interested in these expensive debit card reward programs. (Credit card purchase also offers other facilities; see this post Why Debit Card? Why Cash?)

Anyway, in case you still want to use debit card over credit card, some issuers may offer free reward program for signature-based debit card purchase only, like this 1.5% offer for PayPal check card.
