I just noticed that MBNA silently increased my credit limit by $500 to $7,000. I don't find much use of the additional $500 limit, and it barely moved up total available credit line by 2.3%. Here is my current credit line inventory:
1st Tech Visa Platinum $5,000
Providian Visa $4,500
NetBank First USA $2,500
ShareBuilder Visa Platinum $2,500 (1% rebate)
MBNA MasterCard $7,000 (1% rebate)
Credit Line Total = $21,500
As I reported in a post in late November, Providian recently boosted my credit line too. Do credit card issuers normally increase credit limits to encourage people to spend more?
