AmeriTrade's New Promotion

Contributed by mm | April 15, 2004 4:33 PM PST

AmeriTrade is running a new promotion that gives out a free PalmOne Tungsten T3 Handheld with a retail value of $399 when you open a non-IRA account with at least $10,000 deposit and agree to keep the account open with minimal funding for at least 6 months. New customers are also eligible for 25 free trades in the first 35 days of account funding.

That sounds nice. I never had a handheld but it is not a bad idea to get one free with almost no cost (the opportunity cost may be six months of interest on $10,000, but you can still buy money market fund with the money to get some interest during the six month period). This high-end handheld will be fun to play with!

BTW, if you don't want to put $10,000, then $2,000 initial funding can qualify you for $75 cash bonus at another offer. Or for $1,000 initial deposit, you can qualify for 25 free trades.
