The latest statement of my MBNA card confirms that I have accumulated 20,000 points since I started using the card as my primary credit card in June 2003. Now that I can redeem the 20,000 points for $200 cash, I'm officially recognizing $200 in my book although I am in no hurry to get the cash.
Moving forward, I'll gradually shifting my preference to the ShareBuilder Visa Platinum for better synchronization with Microsoft Money and better turnaround for cash rebate ($25 deposit to my brokerage account for every $2,500 charges). I still plan to use the MBNA card from time to time and plan to hit the 25,000 mark for potential reward of domestic roundtrip tickets.
