I just noticed Providian has increased my credit limit on the Providian Visa card from $3,000 to $4,500. I never received a notification of that change, but maybe a notice is on its way. It's around six months after I opened this account, so it is may be a semi-annual automatic adjustment.
While it is good for adding to my emergency cash availability, I'm not going to use it as my primary card. The interest rating is simply too high, and it does not offer any rebates or other incentives. I'll still use it one every one or two months, just to use it as a credit score enhancing tool.
Here is my current inventory of credit lines:
1st Tech Visa Platinum $5,000
Providian Visa $4,500
NetBank First USA $3,000
ShareBuilder Visa Platinum $3,000 (1% rebate)
MBNA MasterCard $6,500 (1% rebate)
Credit Line Total = $22,000
