A Horrible Financial Planning Session

Lisa said she was underwhelmed with the quality of the Amex financial planning session, and she has right to think so. This Fool.com post is a great living example showing that some of the so-called "financial planners" do not understand what they are talking about.

Personally, I feel no one should entrust his/her hard-earned money to financial planners without obtaining some basic knowledge first to tell good advices from bad ones. Unlike doctors, lawyers and other professionals, one does not need to get certified before s/he can have a title of "financial planner" and alike. Bankrate has several articles (#1, #2, #3) talking about how to find a real pro to take care of your money.
