Biggest All-Cash Acquisitions

If Cingular can successfuly acquire AT&T Wireless, the $41 billion bid will become the biggest all-cash offer in the nation. The other deals making to the top 10 (source: USAToday):

No. 2 (2000) Unilever acquired Bestfoods for $21.1 billion
No. 3 (1988) Philip Morris acquired Kraft for $13.4 billion
No. 4 (2000) R.J. Reynolds Tobacco acquired Nabisco Group for $11.1 billion
No. 5 (2001) Nestle acquired Ralston PUrina for $10.5 billion
No. 6 (1996) Investor group acquired Conrail for $10.4 billion
No. 7 (1994) American Home Products acquired American Cyanamid for $9.6 billion
No. 8 (2003 - pending) Oracle bid for PeopleSoft for $9.4 billion
No. 9 (1998) Deutsche Bank acquired Bankers Trust New York for $9.1 billion
No. 10 (2000) Investor group acquired Seagram for $8.2 billion
