Free Magazines from Northwest Airlines (CFI)
After some of my current magazine subscriptions expire, I will continue them by using "Magazine for Miles" feature of the Northwest Airlines WorldPerks program. The Magazine for Miles program allows user to subscribe to magazines for as low as 400 WorldPerks points. This will be one my CFI initiatives for 2004.
(If you are not a WorldPerks user, you may create an account online at NWA.com. You can receive 1,000 points if you sign up for NWA's email newsletter for two months. Otherwise, your best bet is use a magazine search engine to get the best price. See my post here.)
Below are how many point it costs for some business magazines, and the lowest price from search engines if you pay by cash:
Business Week (51 issues), 1200 points, $25.46
Fortune (28 issues), 1600 points, $4.76
Money (13 issues), 800 points, $4.76
SmartMoney (24 issues), 1700 points, $11.96
I expect to reduce my magazine subscription cost by at least $80 in 2004 thru this.
