Upromise.com
Upromise.com is a useful site. It basically allows you to get cashback from anywhere: online purchases, grocery stores, AT&T phone bills, restaurants, etc. You need to register your credit/debit card number and your grocery card number in order to identify yourself for cashback-eligible transactions. You can choose to either invest the cash in 529 plans or take cash by check. (Disclaimer: I have accumulated $25 so far and have not taken check yet though it is said to be allowed.)
I currently benefit the most from cashback from restaurants and online purchases. I also registered my safeway grocery card so I can get some cash back when I buy Coke and some other brands.
An interesting example is how much I can save in a grocery shopping experience:
1. With Safeway grocery card, I can get an immediate discount price buying certain things. (Well, this discount is not that meaningful as grocery card is free to anyone and only the after-discount price is reasonable market price.)
2. For every $250 purchase in Safeway, I can get 125 MileagePlus points from United Airline.
3. For certain items I can get cash back via upromise.com
4. I can also get 1% cashback from my credit card company.
It saves, gradually :-)
