EmigrantDirect Raised the Bar to 5.15%

No more ING Direct.

With yesterday's hike of savings APY to 5.15%, EmigrantDirect again proved that it wants to keep paying top dollars for parking your savings.

I have to say 5.15% with ultimate liquidity as a savings account really makes this an appealing offer now. Considering the fact that the famous ING Direct only wants to pay an unimpressive 4.35% APY, and other names like HSBC Direct and VirtualBank lack the willingness to keep being the top dog, I have been parking my emergency fund with EmigrantDirect for quite some time.

While it is trendy to always open an account at every player in the savings rate list at Bankrate, it can become costly to transfer your money back and forth for several more basis points.

EmigrantDirect also just upgraded its web site. It also provides other amazing products like 1.40% flat cash back credit card, and 5.35% APY for certificate of deposit.

If you want to take a try, you can sign up for the account here.

(Full Disclosure:
• I have been an EmigrantDirect customer since January 2005.
• I will earn a small commission for each sign-up.)
