He was just crowned as the World Richest Man by Forbes. Slim, whose amassed his $53.5B fortune in Mexican telecom market, beat Bill Gates by half a billion dollars, or merely 1%, to come up at the top of the list.

Bill Gates comes at second with $53B and his old friend Warren Buffet was third with $47B in his pocket.

Here is the 10 richest of the richest on earth:

Carlos Slim is definitely old school. He's of the tried and true "guerrilla billionaire" strategy: buy lots of businesses and either keep them for the cash flow or fix 'em up and sell them. The goal is to make money off a lot of deals instead of a killing on just one.

Whenever I read about these rich people that made it big time I wonder what it may mean to me. I always come to the same answer - focus on building my wealth one dime at a time. I found extremely relevant ideas in People’s Financial Advisor’s website - www.peoplesfinancialadvisor.com and blog - http://www.peoplesfinancialadvisor.com/personalfinance/
