Jim Cramer's Mad Money - October 17, 2005
Jim Cramer started off his show tonight by recommending Georgia Gulf as a short term chemical stock play. Cramer said we shouldnt be listening to the economists who believe in the efficient market hypothesis and that all information is not always known and reflected in the market.
During a caller question Cramer casually mentioned that he said the homebuilders are done going down because I think the Fed is going to stop raising rates eventually, but their costs are going up.
In the second segment of the show Cramer warned viewers not to underestimate the importance of a new CEO citing NWL and NT as companies that could really benefit from their new CEOs.
Cramer used Senator Bill Frists HCA stock scandal as an opportunity to learn. He believes we should trade more like Frist. Dont be a pig, be skeptical, and understand the sector trends.
Tom Tiller, CEO of Polaris Industries (PII) was Cramers guest on the show today. Tiller was very honest in stating that inventories were too high. Cramer applauded Tillers honesty but said the bottom line is that this stock could still go lower.
