Jim Cramer's Mad Money - July 11, 2005

Cramer believes that the Bull Market Has Arrived and its time to buy housing, tech and healthcare. He believes this to be the case because good news matters once again. When a company reports good information its responds well.

The VIX
Jim believes the VIX is unimportant here and that what really matters is the complacency in regards to stocks that are making good money and not going up.

Weather
Cramer doesnt feel that the weather is an important indicator as to how to make money.

Health Care
Cramer believes that Health Care Diagnostics and Services are becoming the holy grail of health care.

Housing Stocks
Cramer believes that the housing stocks are going from cyclical to secular and that TOL, LEN, CTX make good buys here.

Tech
Cramer thinks that we should listen to what the kids have to say about tech. The upgrade trend that Jim is seeing his kids interested in is integral to his buy tech now thesis.

This summary is done for you and I to be able to better track and follow Jim Cramers comments. ACCURACY IS NOT GUARANTEED but is however strived for.

NOTE: I've added today's closing price to each of the stocks listed below. The "m" next to the stock symbol links to the stock on moneycentral.msn.com while the "y" does the same to finance.yahoo.com. Clicking on the symbol itself takes you to a Google search of the website for that symbol.

"Bull", "Bear", "Best of Breed" and other marks can be inferred and don't necessarily need to be stated directly for me to record them as such.

Category notes:
AID Cramer: A stock mentioned during Am I Diversified by Cramer
Feature: A whole segment of the show was devoted to this topic
Guest: Cramer has a guest on the show specifically to discuss this stock
Thought: A Cramer initiated random thought on a stock
Top of Show: Stock mentioned in the very first topic of the show

Inside the Picks
53 Bulls and 7 Bears on today's show. Cramer is obvisouly still in full bull mode. He mentioned 10 stocks that he currently owns as part of his charitable trust portfolio: YHOO, UNH, ECA, JOE, INTC, GME, CBH, MO, G, MOT. Four stocks were mentioned as "Best of Breed": TGT, WAG, WFMI, DNA.

The bull picks from the July 11 show were up .18% on average on July 12. The bear picks were up .73% on average. I wouldn't read a thing into these one day numbers but they're interesting to note.

The stocks mentioned at the top of the show as bull picks (ABT, PEP, TOL, UNH, YHOO) were up .96% on average July 12.

Anyone catch the volume on Gold Kist up to 6MILL. Boy that is huge for a stock that typically trade in the 600,000 range. Anyway here is an update on his pick of the weeks
MFE Picked 5/23 Up 6.5%
NWS Picked 5/25 Up 5.28%
TOL Picked 5/25 Up 18.9%
MXT Picked 6/1/05 Up 9.4%
MOT Picked 6/6/05 Up 7.65%
MCD Picked 6/13/05 Up 1.68%
BBY Picked 6/13/05 UP 26.86%
TWX Picked 6/20/05 Down 3.1%
Total Up 13.18% Not bad.. If you had bough 500 shares of each when he picked you would be up almost $20,000.00

Anyway I think he gives good advice but you still have to watch out a little.

Have you or anyone developed a worksheet that allows one to easily do the "homework" on chosen stocks each week?

Would you recommend your top three choices for brokerages that allow after hour trading or that would best facilitate our following JC's recommendations?

Thanks.

B

Hey guys,

Investment Wizard (http://www.investmentwizard.com/newshist/index.asp) is doing a pretty decent job summarizing Jim's show. Just go to the link and then click on "top analysts" near the upper left hand corner of the screen. That portion is free.

If you want their analysis of Jim's stuff, you have to pay. I've yet to do so, but am getting sorely tempted, as I do feel they do a good job of summarizing and sorting Jim's show.

Just FYI.

Philip

Sorry you're not posting anymore about Cramer's show. I always enjoyed reading this blog and watching his show. Still watching the show but liked your observations too... Hope you start again. If not, thanks for the ones you did post, I know doing something like this takes a lot of time.

TheStreet has been doing free recaps of Cramer's shows. I liked this one better, but in lieu of anything else it's good enough.
