Jim Cramer's Mad Money - June 30, 2005
Jim Cramer seems to be taking a vacation over this holiday weekend so tonight his show dealt with Baby Boomers and how to make money on their aging demographic. There used to be a mutual fund run that focused on nothing but investing in baby boomer demographic trends. If you know the name of the manager, fund, or have any other information on this in general I'd love to hear from you.
Quick hits from his show:
78,000,000 Baby Boomers in this country
Drug Stocks
May start looking good 3-5 years out
Hypertension, Erectile Dysfunction and Osteoporosis these are the long term plays Cramer is interested in for Baby Boomers and drugs.
Watch the number of prescriptions to see which drugs are going to win out.
Vanity
Cosmetic lasers, hair dye, teeth are growth areas
Orthopedic Implants
22 Billion market right now Cramers argument is that more physical activity, more weight lead to greater demand for knees and hips.
Housing and Travel
Buy Land Banks, assisted living stay on top of consumer trends though
Insurance
Cramer believes that United Health (UNH) is the ultimate takeaway here, in insurance and amongst ALL of the Baby Boomer potential stocks from this show.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money is just that -- mad. Also, a good bet to lose money by excessively trading in and out of good stocks. He often pumps stocks that have already had a huge run. Clearly he's not concerned with value or the price you're going to pay for earnings. Just look at Google. He's gagga for it. If I had the money and time I'd short it. No company on earth justifies a 120 PE multiple. Watch I promise the stock is coming down hard soon.
I agree that Cramer often Pumps up a stock that have had huge runs, but on Google just look at what it is going to earn or could earn.. $7.00 a share @ 50 times next years earnings, that is your $350.00. Cramer did hit Google way before anyone did. He was looking at it when it was at below $200.00. Anyway you do have to be real carefull what you pick out of his comments, but you want to short google that is a huge risk.
