John Dorfman of Bloomberg has a great article today that focuses on companies that achieve two important numbers - 30%+ growth in stockholders equity last year and 5 years or more of earnings growth of 30%+. Companies that fit this criteria are few and far between with this years screen yielding only 24 companies. Last year only 11 stocks made the list and Dorfman chose not to recommend any (the list was -.3% while the S&P 500 was +2.1%).

Screens such as this are an incredible way to take control of your own portfolio and future. It really doesn't take a huge amount of effort to create a list like this. The performance boost you'll get by investing only in stocks that meet strict growth and performance criteria will add up HUGELY over time.
