Special Rule for Credit Card Purchases
On the back of credit card statements, there is a section titled "Special Rule for Credit Card Purchases". It basically says that if you ever have any problems with the product/service and tried to resolve the problem with the merchant but to no avail, then you can dispute the charge.
Here is a list of some of the reasons that you may dispute a charge.
- Merchandise was never received
- Problem with the quality of the merchandise
- Tried to return merchandise but was refused
- Cancelled merchandise/service
- Overcharged
- Already paid via other means (e.g. check, cash, money order, other credit card)
- Credit was never received
- Never authorized the charge (e.g. fraud)
Of course, supporting document is strongly advised, if not need, to dispute the charge successfully.
