I am Not an Investment Superstar
Yet, starting with nothing, my net worth now exceeds $2 million. In case youre wondering: This year I turn 50.
Howd I do it? For starters, despite trying, I have never been a successful entrepreneur. Nor was I ever a high-powered business executive. And I have no illusions that I am, or ever will be, the next Donald Trump, Bill Gates or Warren Buffet.
Rather, I see myself as an average-Joe Millionaire. In my book, average-Joe millionaires are people who make it a practice to LIVE ON LESS THAN WHAT THEY EARN. Then, on a regular basis, invest their savings to build wealth over time.
Though Ill blog in the first person, I am married.
My wife is the smart shopper in the family. And she continually reinforces the importance of saving money for the future (Is that a NEED or a WANT?). Shes also the test of reasonableness when it comes to investing (dont be GREEDY!). And prior to her retirement 8 years ago, we enjoyed the added benefit of two incomes. Her contributions are an integral part in our shared success.
I'd love to hear from you regarding your views and ideas on personal finance and investment related topics. Also, suggestions on how to make this blog beneficial to readers will be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards, 1stMill
