Profile

Money is what you make of it. This blog is a personal reflection of how to better my life through making wise money decisions. I love to discuss personal finance, but not everyone is as into it as I am, so I seek out others who get excited about it like I do. That is why I started this blog.

Profile: We are your basic American family, with one child. We plan on having another child in the next two years Mrs. Money Matters works full time, so does her husband. Our income fluctuates because my husband is self employed on a commission only basis. Mrs. Money Matters has a steady income. Mrs. Money Matters is pretty good with her money, and is considered CFO of the household. I am always looking at improving her investments. We are a middle class household and do not have too much debt. We live in Silicon Valley which is Northern California. The main cost of living issue is the high cost of housing. Our main debt is our mortgage, one car (we have two), student loans and a personal loan. Mrs. Money Matters will be focusing on how to improve the following: (in no particular order)

*Knowing when to sell my stock and invest in another stock. I tend to hold on to stock for 5-10 years. At what point in time should I be happy with a return and sell?
*Asset allocation
* Paying off debt more aggressively
*Saving for college
*The Million Dollar Fund
*Purchasing a income producing property
*Working as a family to reach our goals
*Getting my husband to contribute more to his IRA
