Gas is Killing Me

FrugalGirl has a great post about gas prices. In our area, we are now paying close to $2.50 per gallon...yes, that is regular gas that I pump myself. Most of my gas (at least for work) is reimbursed at the federal rate of 40.5 cents per mile. When the feds wrote this tax it was intended that it would cover all expenses to own a vehicle used for business. I'm finding now that I have to cover all of my car payment, insurance and incidentals because the reimbursement isn't covering it anymore.

I am strongly considering downsizing from my SUV to a cheaper car that will I can use more of my reimbursement monies on.
