Corus Bank in Chicago is currently offering a 1 yr CD at 4.26% APR. Even with the Fed's current tightening this is probably a good deal. Here's why. A recent check of the latest Barron's indicates the futures markets are currently predicting a Fed funds rate of about 3.8% for next spring. The LIBOR rate is predicted to be a shade under 4% next spring.
Predictions are just predictions - still this is an indication that savings yields will probably only be in the neighborhood of 4% by next spring (up from the 3% one can get now).
Why not get 4.2% on a 1 year CD now on at least part of one's cash while waiting out the rate hikes?

Where can you find the 4.26% APR on their website? I can only find information about a 4.05% APR (4.11% APY) for the 1 yr CD. Thanks! Hi - I got my info from Barrons - it may or may not be correct. (Still Corus bank does seem to have the best 1 yr CDs out there I can find).
