Lifes Too Short to Drink Cheap Beer
Last week I had an epiphany... Life is far too short to drink cheap beer. Unless, of course, that's what you prefer. Me? I'm fine with certain cheap beers. Miller High Life is currently my favorite low-end brew but, when I was in college, I drank an awful lot of Old Milwaukee. What it lacked in terms of quality, it more than made up for in terms of price. But I actually much prefer beers along the lines of Newcastle Brown Ale. So what's the problem? Around here, a six-pack of High Life goes for less than four bucks, whereas a six-pack of Newcastle goes for a good bit over eight bucks. But then it finally dawned on me. I like good beer. And we can afford good beer. So I'm going to drink good beer. And that brings us to the question of the day, dear readers... What's your poison? Good beer or cheap beer? Or maybe a good, cheap beer? C'mon, jump in and leave a comment. Name names and spread the word about your brew of choice.

I heard on the radio the other day that Super Bowl XL ad spots will cost a whopping $83k/second. Wow. That translates into roughly $2.5 million for a 30 second spot. Then again, you do get a lot of bang for your buck with a ... Read

Great advice! Thanks for validating something I've always stuck too. I buy used cars but I drink great beer.
In College it was Keystone light, about $16 for a 30 pack. But, I've progressed to Coors light which is now the regular. Every once in a while I will opt for Blue Moon, Killians or Corona. Compared to Coors the price difference is only about 2-3 dollars per 12 pack. But compare 30 Coronas to a 30 pack of keystone and the price has doubled, I think its worth it.
I'm a millionaire. I like Keystone light. The best beer is bavarian beer which is hard to come by in the US. I drink it when I find it.
Nice! I am currently at Miller Lite & Bud Select. In a couple years I suspect I will upgrade to something nicer, but I am holding off as part of my savings strategy.
Best beer deal: Trader Joe's has a brand called "Ekstra", imported from Lithuania. There are two varieties, White and Lager. $6 for a six pack of pint-sized bottles. And it's pretty darn good.

I don't know where you live or shop, but at my regular stop in north Denver, a 12-pack of Newcastle runs about $11 (last I checked; I don't buy it regularly).
My favorite beers, that I can get, are New Belgium's Fat Tire and Odell's 90 Shilling. The one I love but can't get in Denver is Smuttynose's Old Brown Dog Ale.
Maybe I'm a snob, but I won't bother with Bud or Lite or Coors, even if they're free. That stuff's just nasty.
