getAbstract Saves Time and Money

Ever complained about there are many books you want to read, but you don't have time and energy to read all of them?

getAbstract is probably the best resource I discoverd from our corporate library lately that dramatically simplifies my life. The goal of getAbstract is to deliver reasy-to-read 5-page summaries of business books. Now that every time I need to take a long flight, I print out a dozen of these summaries out of the 3,000+ ones in the library. Personal enrichment in a busy job is no longer time consuming!

A sampler of what I read in the past week:

• How to Enjoy Your Life and Your Job
• Get A Life
• Trading Up
• The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
• Moneyball
• From Beirut to Jerusalem
• High Impact Middle Management
• Doing Business in India

P.S. Soundview Executive Book Summaries provides similar service. The different, every Soundview summary takes 8 pages.

From getAbstract:

getAbstract summarizes business books, making our subscribers the best-read, most expert players on the business scene today. Our mission is to provide executives worldwide with the best in business knowledge. We deliver this knowledge in concise summaries of the latest, sharpest and most relevant books. Our summaries are available in English and German.

getAbstract was founded in 1998, the brainchild of three global business executives who saw a growing need for putting more knowledge in people’s hands, in a format they could quickly absorb to stay current.

Many of the world's largest companies offer their employees full access to the getAbstract Library. Our clients include some of the most sophisticated and knowledge-driven firms in business today. Our customer base spans the globe and includes such household names as Microsoft, Citigroup, DaimlerChrysler, Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, SAP, Deutsche Post, UBS and Credit Suisse.
