Vonage Plans to File for IPO To Raise Up to $600 Million

Being a Vonage customer for two years, I'm glad Vonage will become a pubicly traded company, althoug I'm not sure whether this is a good investment opportunity.

From Wall Street Journal:

Vonage Holdings Corp., a fast-growing provider of residential phone service over the Internet, is planning to file for an initial public offering to raise as much as $600 million, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The company, based in Edison, N.J., provides discounted local and long-distance phone service to about 800,000 households, making it the nation's largest Internet-based phone company. Customers with high-speed Internet connections plug an adapter into a regular telephone and get service that is largely identical to standard phone service, only it runs over their Internet connections.
