Once again, competition generates more innovation.
From Wall Street Journal:
Hewlett-Packard Co., responding to competitive pressures in one of its most important markets, is unveiling new technology for inkjet printers that is designed to dramatically increase the speed and lower the cost of printing.
As part of the announcement, the Palo Alto, Calif., technology giant today is releasing photo printers based on the new technology that can deliver printed digital photos in as little as 14 seconds, down from the current printing time of around 30 seconds. Separately, H-P is also announcing a slew of new digital photography products, such as a portable device that prints photos with dimensions of five inches by seven inches and four inches by six inches.
