Incentive War Could Be Back On, Thanks To GM Deals





Most probably, GM will be addicted to that because it will find out it cannot live without the extra sales this promotion brings in.

From USA Today:

The industry has been moving away from big rebates and low-interest loans in favor of lease deals, but GM's new offer could change that. The company, which reported a 12.6% sales drop-off, said Wednesday that through the July Fourth holiday, it is offering the discount it gives employees to all buyers and will allow the employee discount to be combined with rebate offers. The discount varies according to vehicle, and GM wouldn't give a range.

The move could set off a new incentive war, "especially if it winds up being even moderately popular, like zero-percent financing was," Spinella said.
