SEC Chairman Donaldson Announces Resignation

Finally ... I have no particular feeling about William Donaldson's policy, but while being described as "too regulatory", Donaldson's SEC falls way behind Spitzer (New York Attorney General) when it comes to enforcement.

From Wall Street Journal:

The chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, William Donaldson, announced his resignation, effective at the end of this month.

Mr. Donaldson, a longtime friend of the Bush family, has come under fire in business and political circles for pursuing an agenda that has been perceived as being too regulatory. A former head of the New York Stock Exchange, Mr. Donaldson last month pushed through a controversial plan to overhaul stock trading over the objections of fellow Republican commissioners, drawing rebukes from allies in Congress.
