Dump Big Blue

Got this article from my friend who works at IBM. He's been saying this for a long time. If you have this stock I'd say it's making a run for the toilet sooner rather than later.

Money quote:

IBM project management is not based on business results. It is based on documented deniability. A successful IBM project is completing everything as originally documented. If it works or not, it doesn't matter. The folks in the GTC will be quick to tell you eESM is a great success and it exceeded all the requirements. Sadly, its users needed something better and a lot less expensive. In most businesses, this project would be considered a failure. In IBM, it isn't. And the organization keeps spiraling towards the ground.

What analysis did you base your recommendation to dump IBM? Im not saying IBM is going up or anything, but I don't think I would be giving recommendations by reading commentary from a company outsider on the internal workings of the company.

2mill - thanks for reading. I wouldn't even go so far as to call my commentary "analysis". Certainly I'm not a securities analyst as you likely can tell. However, when I get an IM from my close friend who *is* an employee of this company and he tells me he works on those two projects and the article is right, I take notice. That's to say it is my _opinion_ that this stock is in for a rough ride. As to my qualifications to say that I leave it entirely up to my readers as I could most certainly be wrong. Accepting this, I present the article at face value. I do not own this stock myself.

Fair enough - it just seems by your title "DUMP BIG BLUE" you are clearly signalling a sell recommendation for IBM.

An organization as large as IBM is clearly going to have internal issues in some areas, but I can't say I would necessarily draw any conclusions about the company's stock performance based on just this insight.
